Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is from Belarus and was born in Minsk. Sergey was a player in the hockey league. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk Belarus on 5 May 1998. In her career she has been awarded 12 WTA singles titles. One of them was one Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. Doubles is another area where she excels. The US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both taken by Elise Mertens. Also, she achieved an incredible Sunshine Double in 2019, winning the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open along with Elise and Mertens. Four women's teams have achieved this achievement. She rose from second to third in the singles world ranking on the 23rd of August in 2021. Her top ranking was again achieved in January 2023. In doubles however she pushed herself into first position at the beginning of February that year after her win in Melbourne and becoming the 2nd tennis player from Belarus to be a part of the sport of doubles. Dmitry Tursunov, a former Russian tennis player, was her coach her from the 2018 season to the close and into part of the 2020 season. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September 2020. She is being trained by her father, Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Her greatest idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
